History

Light was founded in July 2010 by three mums; Louise Heard, Karen Beetham and Savi Robinson who had an interest in/experience of Post Natal Depression.

The three mums were then joined by Jan Cubison as Chair of Light and another mum Hayley Carter. Over the years Light has acquired incorporation and charitable status, there has been changes to the Trustees and volunteers but Light has survived through the tough times that a lot of charities have not been able to. Despite budget cuts for the voluntary sector Light has managed to keep an office base and still provide peer support and group support, reaching families in Sheffield and beyond. Light are intensely proud that they began as three mums who wanted to help other mums who were suffering with postnatal depression and are now helping mums across Sheffield with the help of other peer volunteers.
