Light Sheffield is a peer-support charity that supports mums with postnatal depression and other mental illness around childbirth. This is a great opportunity to join our team of dedicated volunteers.
Approximately one thousand women in Sheffield suffer from depression or anxiety relating to childbirth every year.
Could you use your own experience of postnatal depression or anxiety to offer much needed peer support to these mums and their families?
Could you spare a couple of hours a week to help facilitate a peer support group in Sheffield, Rotherham or Doncaster, or be a ‘buddy’ for a family, and make a difference?
If so we’d love to hear from you – please contact Ellie or Josanne on firstname.lastname@example.org or call us 0114 438 8962

We are so excited to be able to giving out these beautiful Lush pamper packs to our mums at group this week. We often talk about this importance of self-care and what we can do to look after ourselves – physically, mentally and emotionally. We really want to be able to help mums to do this as much as we can and so these donations from Lush in Sheffield are so gratefully received. They contain a massage bar, bath bomb and face mask all neatly packaged in a beautiful hair knot wrap.
If you are pregnant or have young children and are finding things tough, please do get in touch with us, we are here to support you.
Thanks to everyone who came and who supported us with our birthday event last Saturday, we were overwhelmed with the amount of clothes and toys donated to us. We had a great raffle, much fun for the children and lots of tea and cake! Thanks again for all your support!

Here are some pictures of our fantastic supporter and amazing runner Neil who ran the London Marathon raising over £3,000 for Light.
It was the hottest marathon on record, yet Neil kept going through the pain still smiling despite needing some medical treatment at the end.
We want to thank Neil, his family and every single person who supported him and Light. You are all amazing and the money raised is going to make a real difference to the support we are able to offer mums and families across Sheffield and beyond – thank you!
Thank you to all the Light volunteers, mums and children that took part in the making of this film.
Please, please, please vote for us!!
